ACHE – SouthEastTexasChapter (ACHE-SETC)

ACHE-SETC is an affiliate of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a national organization that is the premier professional society for health care executives dedicated to improving health care delivery. ACHE-SETC is one of the largest regional chapters, of the 81 chapters affiliated with ACHE, in the U.S, with a current membership of 1,500+ covering 29 counties in the southeast Texas region. The ACHE-SETC/MWA Partnership conference, an integrated program this year, provides the opportunity for ACHE members to earn 12 hours of ACHE F2F CEUs.

Texas Tribune Panel Discussion

The Texas Tribune is pleased to present, in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, a three-part conversation series on where the state is headed on health care. Join us for the first installment of this series: a discussion about access to coverage versus access to care. Put simply: Does Texas have enough medical professionals to accommodate our surging population? Our panelists are Vivian Ho, chair in Health Economics, James A. Baker III Institute at Rice University; Thomas Kim, chief medical officer at Med2You; Elena Marks, president and CEO of the Episcopal Health Foundation; and Jonathan MacClements, assistant dean for Graduate Medical Education for the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. This event is free and includes complimentary beverages. The panel will take place in Room 360.

Texas Startup Pitch @ Medical World Americas provides startups from across the state an opportunity to present their innovative health care technologies to an audience of key health system stakeholders in the Texas Medical Center.We are looking for startup companies that are solving real-world problems faced by health care institutions. Whether they are focused on digital health, medical device, diagnostic or biopharma, all startups are encouraged to apply.
  San José Clinic Volunteer Event
Friday, May 20 at 8:30 am |  Room 330
This session will take a look at the opportunities for medical professionals of all levels and backgrounds to give back and support the health of their community through volunteerism. Paule Anne Lewis, president and CEO of Houston’s premier charity care provider – San José Clinic, will delve into the long history and role of volunteers in Houston, as well as the current impact made by community partners, academic affiliates, and volunteers in the local safety net system. A portion of the session will be dedicated to audience questions which will also be fielded by the San José Clinic leadership team from the medical, dental, pharmacy and volunteer departments. This will be a phenomenal case study of the effective use of volunteers in providing care for the working poor in a major metropolitan area.
